Looks like Wayne Gretzky’s grandson is following in his footsteps! On Tuesday, the hockey legend’s wife Janet posted an Instagram video of their nine-month-old grandson Tatum playing with a mini hockey stick.
“All I can say is Athlete 9 months Tatum,” Janet wrote. “This is for all you Canadians out there.”
Tatum is Wayne and Janet’s first grandchild. Their daughter Paulina and her fiancé Dustin Johnson welcomed the baby boy in January.
Unsurprisingly, the couple kept with Gretzky tradition when naming their son Tatum. In the family, all sons have names starting with the letter T. Paulina’s brothers are Trevor, Ty and Tristan.
Back in May, the Great One gushed to ET Canada about being a first-time grandfather. “You always think your grandchild or grandson is the greatest, the coolest and the nicest and he never cries,” the 54-year-old said. “That's the way we feel obviously. It’s so overwhelming for us.”
Wayne also admitted that he and soon-to-be son-in-law Johnson, a pro golfer, are already fighting over the little one’s athletic interests. “I said, ‘I'm going to get him in skates before you get him a golf club,’” Wayne joked. “So we’re already debating, because... I think he’s going to be an athlete.”
Wayne and Janet are parents of five. Paulina, 26, is the oldest followed by Ty, 25, Trevor, 23, Tristan, 15, and Emma, 12.
