Makeup Artist Pat McGrath Launches First Branded Beauty Product, Gold 001

All that glitters is gold.

Ever dreamed of getting your makeup done by legendary artist, Pat McGrath? Well, now you can...kind of.

McGrath is launching her highly-anticipated first branded product, Gold 001, produced by Pat McGrath Labs. According to her website, the product is a highly malleable formula with a multidimensional, microfine pigment that knows no limits. It can be used on eyes, lips, brows and skin for a glitzy, luminous effect.

The dazzling pigment comes with a few tools of the trade -- a spatula to crush and mix pigment, a second life container to create your own custom formula and Mehron Makeup mixing liquid activator to take your experimentation to the next level.

And if this product looks familiar, it's because it is. McGrath first used the product backstage at Prada's spring/summer 2016 show in Milan last month as a gold-foiled effect lipstick. She then took the product to Paris where she surprised spectators with golden makeovers in the Tuileries. McGrath has also used the product on Kim Kardashian for her Elizabeth Taylor/Cleopatra-themed Violet Grey photo shoot.

"I’ve been working in the labs for years to see a pigment with this finish, and I knew once I touched it that it was major; there is something magnificent about its pure form that leaves me breathless," McGrath said in an e-mail announcement according to Allure. "The resulting look is liquid-like, a gilded glaze of intense colour."

According to WWD, there are plans to launch a full Pat McGrath cosmetics line, most likely coming in late 2016.

The whimsical product goes on sale on Oct. 29th at noon on and is priced at $40. Move fast as there are only 1000 limited-edition compacts.

Talk about hitting the jackpot.
