B.C. Ski Hills Get Dump Of Snow Just A Day After Halloween

No sooner has Halloween passed, and the North Shore mountains in B.C. saw some of their first winter snowfall.

Both Grouse Mountain and Cypress Mountain got a dusting on Sunday. (Watch the view from Grouse in the video above.)

According to CBC News, Whistler Blackcomb saw 25 centimetres of the white stuff fall over the weekend, weeks before opening day on Nov. 26.

Grouse and Cypress have yet to announce their first day of the season.

A warm, wet winter in B.C. last year forced Cypress to shut down for the season in March. At Grouse, staff even made a plea to Mother Nature for more snow before it closed early as well.

The slush-like conditions even led skiers and snowboarders at Whistler to don wetsuits for a "surf."

And this winter's forecast doesn't bode well. Matt MacDonald, a meteorologist at Environment Canada, told Global News that with higher than normal temperatures and most of the snowfall will come down as rain.
