A photo of a Vancouver police dog clinging onto an officer's leg as he rappelled down a wall has gone viral, surprising viewers with the strength of the canine's forelegs.
"Hey dad... This rappelling? Yuh, I'm not a fan," read the photo's caption on Facebook.
Niko was participating in a training session with his human handler on Oct. 22 and was safely fastened to his partner, according to Vancouver police.
"As police tactics change, so must our training. Rappelling is a vital skill for our tactical teams to have, and it tests both handler and dog," the department stated in their comment section.
Police reassure Niko was introduced slowly to the task then awarded with praise and a game of tug-of-war after the training exercise.
