San Jose Sharks' In-Arena Opening Video Is So '90s We Can't Handle It

You just can't pump up hockey fans like you used to.

The San Jose Sharks have played in the National Hockey League (NHL) since 1991.

And to celebrate its 25th anniversary (this is technically its 24th season due to the lockout in 2004-05), the Sharks have released an in-arena video from 1993. And it's way too '90s for us to handle.

The video shows a series of animated sharks descended upon the city of San Jose, where they enter an arena, bump chests, and then hockey uniforms suddenly materialize over their torsos.

It was shown on the first of five throwback nights at the SAP Center on Tuesday night, when the Sharks lost 5-2 to the Columbus Blue Jackets.

And that wasn't the only video shown during the game.

If nothing else, these videos show us that in-arena presentations have come a long way since the 1990s.

You just can't pump up hockey fans like you used to.
