Young Justin Trudeau Definitely Wasn't Stoked At His Dad's Swearing-In

Can we blame them?

On Wednesday, Justin Trudeau will be sworn in as Canada's 23rd Prime Minister. But this certainly isn't his first time at such an important ceremony. On March 3, 1980, Trudeau and his two brothers attended their father's swearing in.

As you can tell, it was a little long for the three boys to sit still.

From left to right, Justin, Michel and Alexandre (Sacha) watched their dad, Pierre Trudeau, be sworn in as Prime Minister for the second time. (Pierre was first elected PM in 1968, before any of his sons were born.)

Each of the brothers were dressed in adorable matching suits and rubber boots.

Fast forward 35 years and the ceremony is already promising to be much different than previous years. For the first time ever, the public has been invited to the grounds of Rideau Hall to watch Trudeau and his cabinet walk in and out of the building. As well, the new federal government will arrive together by bus, rather than individual limos.

But will Trudeau's three children be at the swearing in? And will they have to sit through the two and half hour ceremony, like their dad did?

So far, Xavier, Ella-Grace and Hadrien, have been with their dad at every important step of the election.

From rallies...

To voting...

To waiting for the results on election night...

And if they are at Wednesday's ceremony, let's just hope they can stay awake.
