PLAYA DEL CARMEN, Mexico — A Canadian couple has reportedly died at a hotel in Mexico, where they were to attend their daughter's wedding.
Local media reports say the bodies of the man and woman thought to be in their 60s were found in a room at the Playacar Palace hotel in Playa del Carmen.
Authorities have reportedly said the bodies showed no signs of violence.
The state attorney's office has reportedly said an autopsy determined the man died of a heart attack, while the woman died of asphyxia by drowning sometime between 1 a.m. and 3 a.m. on Monday.
Media reports say the bodies were found in a Jacuzzi and the couple is believed to have been electrocuted.
Authorities have not released the names of the victims.
