Driver, 17, charged in Vaughan crash that killed teens Joshua Ferreira, Tatiana Sousa

A 17-year-old from Vaughan who drove an SUV that crashed in October and left two teen passengers dead faces five dangerous driving charges. 

​The teen, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, faces the following charges:

- Two counts of dangerous driving causing death.

- Three counts of dangerous driving causing harm. 

Joshua Ferreira, 16 and Tatiana Sousa, 15, died and four others were injured when the SUV they were riding in went off Teston Road, just west of Pine Valley Drive, at around 9 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24. 

The vehicle, which was driven by the teen who was charged, landed in a deep ditch several metres below the roadway.

The victims attended Chaminade College School and Dante Alighieri Academy in Toronto.
