Murder charge laid after man, 35, dies in northern Alberta shooting

HIGH PRAIRIE, Alta. — A charge of second-degree murder has been laid after a shooting in northern Alberta this week.

RCMP at High Prairie say officers answered a call early Tuesday morning about a shooting at a home on the Atikameg First Nations.

Upon arrival, they were told a 35-year-old man had died.

The name of the alleged victim has not been released.

An 18-year-old man was arrested Wednesday.

Arlen Chase Chalifoux remains in custody prior a court appearance in High Prairie on Monday.
