MONTREAL — The Montreal Impact have rewarded Mauro Biello for his successful late-season run by making him permanent head coach.
The former Impact player and longterm club employee took over as interim coach after Frank Klopas was fired Aug. 30.
Under Biello, the team finished the regular season on a 7-2-2 roll and won two playoff games before losing in extra time in Columbus.
Biello taking charge coincided with star striker Didier Drogba's arrival.
