Netflix Releases 'Degrassi: Next Class' Trailer And 2016 Premiere Date

So many new faces!

Hang on kids, "Degrassi: Next Class" premieres in January 2016.

The new series, which is a continuation of the popular Canadian high school drama, will premiere worldwide on Netflix and the Family Channel in Canada starting Jan. 15.

Along with 'Degrassi' favourites like Olivia Scriven (Maya), Lyle Lettau (Tristan) and Ana Golja (Zoe), the show welcomes five new faces: Amir Bageria as Baaz Nahir, Soma Bhatia as Goldi Nahir, Jamie Bloch as Yael Baron, Chelsea Clark as Esme Song and Dante Scott as Vijay Maraj.

Earlier in June, Bell Media announced the show would be cancelled after 14 long seasons. And with so much nostalgia, drama and the 'Degrassi' curse that continues to hold true, it was sad to see a Canadian production temporarily disappear. Not to mention one of Canada's biggest music exports (Drake) got his big break on the show.

But as TV lovers know, shows that get cancelled might have a second chance on a streaming network like Netfix. In June, DHX Media (a Toronto studio that shoots the show) said the new series will continue to tell the stories of Generation Z.

"Pushing their own limits and testing the bonds of family and friends, the students each find their own way to deal with a range of issues: from homophobia, racism, substance abuse and violence to burgeoning sexuality, body issues, heartbreak and the complications of dating in the social media age."
