Health-care company in Nova Scotia approved for payroll rebate

HALIFAX — Nova Scotia's business lending agency has approved a payroll rebate worth up to $787,500 for a health-care technology company.

Nova Scotia Business Inc. says ResMed Halifax Inc. has said it plans to use the money to create up to 40 new jobs over five years.

The company is eligible for a smaller rebate if it creates fewer jobs.

Nova Scotia Business Inc. says for every dollar the company spends on the new jobs, it will receive between five and 10 cents back, but that money won't be disbursed until the business generates actual payroll in the province.
