Canada’s Grey Cup tournaments have been around for over a century — 107 years to be exact — but the half-time show has only been a tradition since 1991.
This Sunday, Canadian football fans will have much to look forward to thanks to a matchup pitting the Winnipeg Blue Bombers against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in Calgary. As for the half-time act this year, that job goes to country star Keith Urban.
Now, it may seem odd to have a singer from Australia headline a major Canadian sporting event, but if you look at past performers, you’d be surprised to find it’s more common than you think.
