Vancouver SkyTrain Suspects Hurled Racial Slurs Before Attack

The victim needed to be treated in hospital.

Transit Police

Transit police in Metro Vancouver are looking for two women who "viciously" attacked another woman in September.

The two suspects were yelling racial slurs and harassing non-Caucasian passengers at the Granville SkyTrain Station just after midnight on Sept. 19, said a news release.

When another woman politely asked them to stop, she was punched, knocked to the ground, kicked, and grabbed by the hair.

She managed to break free and left the area to call police. The victim suffered cuts and bruises, a black eye, and injuries to her arm that required treatment in hospital.

Transit police released photos of the two suspects who are described as:

  • White, early 20s, long straight brown hair, brown eyes, medium full-figured build, wearing a black mini-dress, short light-coloured denim jacket, high heels and carrying a black and white clutch purse.
  • White, early 20s, long straight brown hair, brown eyes, taller and slimmer than the first suspect, wearing a black mini-dress, brown bootie-style high heels, carrying a black jacket and a large black shoulder bag.
