Season Of Giving: How Our Family Gave Back This Year
Many families have a yearly tradition of giving back or donating during the holiday season, and we think that’s something worth sharing and spreading. We asked our Parent Contributor Network to organize a way for their families to donate, in one way or another, to The Hospital For Sick Children (SickKids). What that looks like is up to them; from a bake sale to a potluck to a toy donation shopping spree or a pledge drive, we’re excited to see the creative and generous ways our parents bring their families together in the name of something truly good.
When Tara Wilson took her two daughters downtown for a shopping trip, they didn't know it would end with a walking trip to SickKids to drop off the craft supplies they had just bought together as a family!
By walking her 4-year-old son through the donation guidelines and explaining the SickKids situation to him as he wrote a card for the children there, Pauline Oseña is getting an early start on showing her kids what the season of giving can really be about.
