Taxpayers group tells Saskatchewan government to dump provincial bus line

SASKATOON — The Canadian Taxpayers Federation says the Saskatchewan government should cut the cord with its provincial bus line.

Spokesman Todd McKay says the Saskatchewan Transportation Co. is losing millions of dollars.

McKay says there is no need for the government to run a bus company when it could be doing other things like building roads, keeping communities safe, and maintaining schools and hospitals.

McKay says when you have a business that keeps losing money, you have to do something about it and in this case, the government should part ways with the provincial bus line.
