Touching Christmas Decorations From Around The World

Even store-bought ornaments have a story behind them.

Whilst i was enjoying the Christmas Snow in a local National Trust site, i popped into their cafe-cum-shop and found this little fellow in the Bargin Bin. I paid the lady the shockingly low sum of three english pounds, tucked my little cervidae friend in my pocket (with his little bobblehead poking out), and set off through the wintery tundra. On a technical note, i love shooting with the 85mm at f1.4, it's crazy how slim the focusing range is. As you can see above, the body of the moose is in focus, but the head is ever so slightly out.

For those who celebrate Christmas, the holiday is filled with memories and traditions passed down from generation to generation.

And we're not just talking things like attending midnight mass or making gingerbread houses. The real magic of Christmas tends to lie in the decorations displayed all throughout the house.

In the slideshow below, artificial tree provider Balsam Hill is sharing images and stories about Christmas decorations from around the world. From a relatively new set of golden jingle bells in Romania to handmade snowflakes from Haiti, these pieces capture the true beauty of the holidays.
