This week we meet Frank and his owner Allan, two guys trying to make it in the big city ;) meet @citydogliving.

My name is Allan and this is Frank. We started out as friends and now have become co-workers. I am a menswear designer, entrepreneur, and photographer. Frankie is a full-time forager, sleeper, and farter. When Frankie came along, I wanted to find a way to combine all my interests with the world of dogs and eventually develop a business out of it. This gave birth to citydogliving.com, a blog where we talk about life, training, diet, and products for you and your pup. After a year of trying to create valuable content and building an audience, we’re now getting ready to launch our own brand of apothecary products for dogs called Loyal Canine Co. — @citydogliving

I’m inspired by the ability to preserve of a moment in time. There’s nothing like looking back on photos from years ago… All the moments you forgot about. It makes me sad that we live in such a digital world. If the world lost power tomorrow, we would lose everything. At the end of each year, we go through all our photos from the past 12 months, print all our favorites, and put them into a yearly album. — @citydogliving

Simplicity always works. Keep it clean and crop out anything that isn’t necessary. Make your subject stand out. — @citydogliving

Photography has always been a part of my life in some shape or form. In high school I built a darkroom in my parents basement so that I could develop and print my black and white photos. I was then accepted to go to college for photography but decided to go in another direction. I continued to shoot film and begin to play with the early (but terrible) digital cameras as a hobby. I discovered Instagram around the same time that I moved to NYC to go to school at FIT for menswear design. Living in New York was the perfect moment to start playing with this new platform. Boy, did I ever love those filters. — @citydogliving

This was a photo from a shoot we did with the dog product retailer @leadthewalk. It felt a little silly at the time putting Frankie in a denim vest and shooting him working with me on my motorcycle, but now it's fun to look back at the moment and enjoy the funny photos. His constant curiosity and interest in whatever you’re doing makes photos come out wonderfully. A day of working with different brands, taking photos, and hanging out with my dog is a great day. — @citydogliving

I really like following Christian Watson from @1924US. His love for old things, working hard, and not taking life too seriously makes me think we’d get along just fine. — @citydogliving

Are you working on a project? Do you have something else you’d like us to mention to our followers? Let us know what it is.

Where to begin… Well, @citydogliving is continuing to grow and we’d love to see more people and brands share their city dogs and dog products with us! We're getting close to launching @loyalcanineco, our handmade line of apothecary products, leather goods, and housewares. You can also find me at @godspeedco, a company I co-founded inspired by motorcycle and American culture, as well as @blackburnandfoster where you’ll find my personal work and portfolio. I think that’s it :). — @citydogliving
