As the end of 2015 draws near, so do the stories that look back at, well, the stories we cared about this year.
Time magazine's "Person of the Year" for 2015 will be revealed on the Today show on Wednesday morning, but the publication has released a shortlist leading up to the episode to pique readers' interest.
The eight candidates are a mixed bag of the sensational, the feared and the controversial — check out the video above to see who made the list.
Last year, Time picked Ebola fighters as their "person of the year," beating out other finalists like Taylor Swift, Vladimir Putin (who's on the list again this year) and the Ferguson protestors.
