Every year, WestJet finds new ways to spread Christmas cheer.
This time, the Calgary-based airline took its holiday campaign around the world, performing 12,000 "mini miracles" for people in places such as Toronto, Vancouver, Hawaii and London.
A video posted to YouTube shows good deeds ranging from handing warm blankets to the homeless, to giving a Nova Scotia family a trip to Walt Disney World after the kids' father died in October.
One of the most touching scenes comes when WestJet greets a Canadian veteran who was wounded in Afghanistan at an airport — and gives his family a vacation to Hawaii.
The "mini miracles" were realized on Dec. 9, and they were carried out with the hope that others would perform miracles themselves. In total, WestJet counted 31,793 miracles that people made happen around the world.
Last year's WestJet Christmas Miracle saw the airline bring gifts and snow to a small community in the Dominican Republic, where it has long worked with a charity that builds homes in the community of Nuevo Renacer.
And in 2013, it brought gifts directly to 250 passengers who were travelling through Calgary International Airport.
But WestJet isn't the only airline that has carried out good deeds for travellers during the holiday season.
A video showed Canadians at a pub crying as they learned they would be going home for the holidays.
Holiday travel can be tough. So it's great to see airlines trying to keep people happy at the most wonderful (and stressful) time of the year.
