A 10-year-old girl is NOT okay after she found out the truth about Santa, and she made her feelings perfectly clear to her parents in a hilarious, heartfelt note.
Maryland mom Nicki Adams posted a photo of her daughter’s note to Facebook last week. In the caption, she explained that her daughter Belle had been asking her and her husband about old Saint Nick, so they decided to be honest with her. However, they did not anticipate that Belle would have such a strong reaction to the truth.
In an angry note slipped under her parents’ door, Belle wrote: “You have no idea what you just did. I really tried to believe. Everyone told me it’s your parents. I can’t believe you anymore. Is the Easter bunny real, how bout the tooth fairy, huh? You just ruined a 10 year old child’s LIFE thanks.”
“Nothing will make me feel better,” she continued. “You lied to me about something I loved. That BROKE my heart. #MiddleFingerEmoji.”
Since being posted last week, Belle’s letter has been shared over 21,000 times! “This letter was a snap shot in time and we thought other families could relate to the dilemma,” Belle’s mom told Buzzfeed.
And she was right! The post received comments from a number of parents relating to Adams’ experience with her daughter. “I had a similar reaction,” one wrote. “I told my Mom she was the meanest ever for lying to me.”
Others were just highly amused at the little girl’s use of the #MiddleFingerEmoji. “Oh my goodness, that sweet baby. Love her heart,” one said. “I wanna give her a hug and a fist bump on the middle finger emoji!”
Another dubbed the note the “best thing I’ve seen all year.”
Despite finding out the truth about Santa, Adams said that she and her husband have taught Belle that “Christmas is about miracles and believing in magic.”
“Within minutes of the note Belle was just fine!” the mom told The Huffington Post. "We spoke to her about the magic of Santa and how he lives in her heart. She now knows that it's her duty to be part of Santa's team and to help others believe and spread the magic of Christmas.”
