Winter In Canada Captured In Under 60 Seconds

The cold never bothered me anyways

Well it's about time.

After unseasonably warm temperatures in Ontario and Quebec, it looks like winter has finally arrived. Parts of Southern Ontario woke up to snow, freezing rain and ice pellets Tuesday morning. Environment Canada says a low-pressure system which blew in from Texas will head east and could dump as much as 35 centimetres in Quebec by the afternoon.

The sudden snowfall may seem like a shock for some, but for others it's a reminder of what's been the norm. Cities like Winnipeg, Halifax, Moncton and Saint John have dealt with heavy snowfall for days now.

Canada's mild December weather had scientists forecasting 2015 to be an exception to the typically brutal winters.

Some meteorologists pointed their fingers at the El Niño that rolled in back in March, according to the CBC.

But the recent winter shock could be a sign of what's to come in 2016.

While The Weather Network is forecasting an overall milder winter for 2015, things could start looking familiar come February 2016.

In light of the wintery onslaught, check out the video above for a gentle reminder of what to expect.
