Three lives lost as tragedy strikes remote northern Manitoba community

OXFORD HOUSE, Man. — Three people have been killed in a fire in a remote area of northern Manitoba.

RCMP say the blaze broke out in a home in the community of Oxford House early Tuesday morning.

The three victims were residents of Oxford House.

Their names have not been released.

Mounties and the provincial fire commissioner's office are investigating, but police say foul play is not suspected.

Sgt. Bert Paquet, an RCMP spokesman, says in a release that community members are being provided with updates on the tragedy as they become available.
