A camera on Montreal's West Island gave National Geographic a run for its money on Sunday, capturing incredible images of a snowy owl in flight.

Transportation Minister Robert Poëti's Facebook posted the photos of the "impressive traveller" on his Facebook page on Thursday.

Barbara Frei, the director of the McGill Bird Observatory, told CBC News the highway and nearby grassy fields attracted the young female who was looking for a place to hunt small rodents.
