Amy Schumer's Critics' Choice Awards Speeches Reference Her Nudity, Gun Control And More

"That's what you want everybody to say when a naked photo of you goes viral..."

Amy Schumer knows she is a "brave" actress, and not just because she won two Critics' Choice awards on Sunday.

The "Trainwreck" writer and star referenced her nearly nude Pirelli calendar photoshoot with Annie Leibovitz during her acceptance speech for the MVP trophy — her first of the night.

"That's what you want everybody to say when a naked photo of you goes viral, that was really brave," said Schumer, after pointing to her midsection.

"If you're an actress and you have this area right here, you have to write your own stuff," she said. "This is where I get really brave."

The 34-year-old is, of course, making light of her past year which saw her first movie gross over $100-million at the box office, and win multiple statues including an Emmy and a Peabody for her zeitgeist-hitting Comedy Central TV series "Inside Amy Schumer."

"Thank you so much, I can't believe this whole year's happened and that Judd [Apatow, her "Trainwreck" director] let me tell my story," said Schumer. "I can't believe I don't have to talk about how autobiographical it is anymore."

Schumer continued to crack up the audience by referring to herself as a "plus-plus-sized actress," and joke about hiring or firing the members of her "team." She then made sure to thank her sister and producing partner Kim Caramele, before waving to her boyfriend Ben Hanisch and saying, "Hi Ben."

But Schumer concluded her first speech on a serious note with a dedication to Jillian Johnson and Mayci Breaux, who were both shot and killed during a screening of "Trainwreck" in Lafeyette, Louisiana.

The comedian has become an advocate for gun control reform, and said on stage that the shooting came as a result of "a mentally ill person [who] got their hands on a gun, but we can end gun violence together."

Less than an hour later, Schumer returned to the stage again to accept an award for Best Actress in a Comedy.

Naturally, she was quick to point out that she was at risk of becoming over-exposed.

"Who wants to hear from this bitch again?"

Later, she insisted "Grandma" star Lily Tomlin should have won in that category instead and said, "I would love to go down on you."

In other words, audiences and critics alike got to see Schumer's full body of work at the awards ceremony, just as her sketch series is about to go into production of its fourth season.
