Central Alberta teen found guilty of sex charges involving teen girls

RED DEER, Alta. — A central Alberta teen has been found guilty of sex charges involving three teen girls.

The Red Deer man is now 18 and can't be named due to his age at the time of the offences.

He showed no emotion as the the judge found him guilty of three counts of sexual assault and one count of sexual touching of a minor.

Court heard that the first sexual assault took place in 2011 while on a Scouts Canada camping trip near Sylvan Lake.

The other crimes took place in 2012, 2014 and last year, including one that happened during a Cadets Canada trip.

The youth was found not guilty of five additional charges and a sentencing hearing is to be held on May 27.  (CHUB)
