MELBOURNE, Australia — Canadian Milos Raonic has advanced to the fourth round at the Australian Open, beating Viktor Troicki of Serbia in straight sets on Saturday.
Raonic, of Thornhill, Ont., took the third-round match, 6-2, 6-3, 6-4 in one hour 46 minutes.
The 13th-ranked Raonic trailed 4-1 in the third set before winning five consecutive games and the match. He set up match point with an ace, his 14th of the match, and clinched it when No. 21 Troicki hit a forehand long.
It's the fourth time Raonic has qualified for the fourth round. He made the quarter-finals in 2015.
He will face either Lukas Rosol of the Czech Republic or fourth-seeded Stan Wawrinka of Switzerland next.
