LA LOCHE, Sask. — A teacher's aide killed in a mass shooting in northern Saskatchewan is being remembered as a sweet young woman who had plans to attend university.
Ashton Lemaigre says his friend Marie Janvier loved her new job at the junior and senior high school in La Loche, where she was gunned down Friday.
He says Janvier, in her early 20s, was kind and patient with children and talked about getting her teaching degree someday.
RCMP say three others were killed and several were wounded in the shooting in the remote Dene community.
Residents say shots were fired at a home and the school and RCMP confirmed their investigation involves the two locations.
Officers say they have a male in custody.
