How To Get The Perfect Beach Waves With Your Straightener

The trick is in the wrist movement.

The secret to the perfect beach waves seems to be the one hair trick no one can seem to agree on. Do you use a sea salt spray or scrunching gel? Should you curl with your hair wand, or sleep in French braids?

One thing most people can unanimously agree on, however, is that your straightener is useless for those effortless waves.

But turns out, that's not the case.

In the video above, we show you how to make the perfect beachy wave with your flat iron. The trick is in the wrist movement: rather than continuously rotating your straightener down the hair shaft, alternate between 45 degree angle flips. Finish off with your favourite texturizing spray (salt, sugar, whatever it may be!) and voila! Beachy hair in under 10 minutes.
