When it comes to booking a restaurant for Valentine's Day, you're often looking for two things: candlelight and chocolate. Alright, perhaps some wine and delicious food as well.
Luckily, Ottawa has plenty of restaurants that offer this kind of romantic atmosphere in spades — and they're quickly booking up for February 14 (and 13th, since that's the Saturday night this year).
We took a look at the top spots in Ottawa and its surrounding area to snag yourself a romantic meal on Valentine's Day, or really, any other hot date night. Our criteria were simple: a place that allows couples their own space (no communal options allowed), has rich, indulgent options on the menu (sorry, soup spots) and a general feeling of intimacy, with courteous service playing a key role.
Of course, there's always the counter-argument, that you just shouldn't go out for Valentine's Day dinner at all, but we think these places might just make it worthwhile. Let us know if you have a favourite we missed.
