Making dumplings from scratch isn't as difficult as you think.

Dim sum is similar to Spanish tapas in the sense that it is not a single dish, but a wide variety of small dishes that are shared. In Chinese culture, dim sum is traditionally served with tea on weekend mornings as a snack between meals.
