Connor McDavid returned to the ice at Rexall Place in style Tuesday night.
Fans heading into the Edmonton arena were greeted by singers and drummers from the Alexis Nakota Sioux Nation, who performed a song celebrating and supporting the rookie player's return.
"Let's go back to the good old days, let's go back to the Gretzky days. Go, Oilers, go, you can do it, you got Connor McDavid, Nuge, Ebs and Hall," the group sang as they beat their drums.
A video of the performance had over 300,000 views on Facebook as of Wednesday morning.
It wasn't the first time the top NHL draft pick inspired fans to burst into song.
Back in November, Ontario rapper Raspy Balboa recorded the hype track "Connor McDavid (Welcome to the NHL)" to celebrate the freshman player's success.
And, McDavid didn't let fans down. In the game against the Columbus Blue Jackets, McDavid scored a jaw-dropping goal, one that was eerily similar to the play that caused the collarbone injury that took him off the ice in November. He also had two assists, in what was only the 14th game of his NHL career.
