When Rob Comeau couldn't sell his 2012 Nissan Altima, he turned to his film-making friends for inspiration.
And Chris Hau, 24, of production house Know Hau Media in Toronto, knew what would be the most epic way to help out.
"He was trying to sell it for a year," Hau tells The Huffington Post Canada. "I came up with an idea and said, 'let's do this.'"
On Feb. 2, Comeau and Hau met at a local McDonald's and jotted down the script of a typical car commercial — you know, the one with a deep voice, interior shots and some type of nature-filled landscape.
But this wasn't just a typical ad for Craigslist. With wit and humour, the two wrote down what they could on their cell phones and called up their comedian friend Mike Sgro for more jokes.
"We woke up at 7 a.m. the next morning and shot for five hours," Hau adds. For the voice, Hau says they paid a voice-over professional $200.
In the end, the team produced a one-minute car commercial, which gives you a pretty good idea exactly what you're buying.
"He [Comeau] has over 100 emails of people offering to buy the car, he's still trying to sort through the best ones," Hau adds.
