Justin Bieber's Grammy Awards 2016 Performance Is Spirited, Celebratory

The "global pop sensation from Canada" earned his maple leaf back.

In case you did not yet know, according to Kaley Cuoco, Justin Bieber is a "global pop sensation from Canada" who just won his first-ever Grammy award.

Both of these statements are true. But as we all know, he's much more than that.

The 21-year-old picked up his first piece of hardware from the Grammys for Best Dance Recording, and shared his prize with his collaborators Diplo and Skrillex. The trophy was awarded prior to the telecast, but Bieber made sure to give these two extra praise during their performance on Monday night.

"Diplo and Skrillex, everybody," exclaimed Bieber, about three minutes into his performance.

Bieber has had a few years of contentious moments (including one memorable campaign that had him as the losing prize in the U.S. vs. Canada Olympic hockey game), but has come back with a vengeance thanks to his latest album, "Purpose," which has produced hit after hit over the last few months.

The "Sorry" singer began his Grammys set with an earnest, acoustic rendition of his song "Love Yourself," before he segued into singing a remix of his award-winning dance hit, "Where Are Ü Now."

Later, as the beat of "Where Are Ü Now" became more intense, Bieber ripped off his yellow and black leopard varsity jacket to hop around the Grammy stage emphatically in a black tank top and fitted black pants. The official Grammys Twitter account posted a tease of this diverse Bieber performance on Monday afternoon, hours before the telecast:

But, prior to hitting the stage, the Stratford, Ont. native opted to carpool to the ceremony with "The Late Late Show" host James Corden. Bieber wore a tailored white Saint Laurent tuxedo jacket, black shirt and black tuxedo pants on the red carpet, as he posed with his younger brother Jaxon.

We're more than happy to say, we will gladly claim him as our own again. All is forgiven.
