Ryan Reynolds Has The Best Response To Sexist Question

"Women love f*cking superhero movies!"

It's a common misconception that men watch more movies than women, and it's even more widely (and erroneously) believed that women don't watch superhero movies.

When Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds sat down with reporters in Berlin, he took a minute to dispel that fallacy.

"Women love f*cking superhero movies! Clearly they go to these movies. It's sort of funny that studios are sort of the last to know that... I think the action and the humour is what appeals to women, you know, the same thing," the "Deadpool" star said in response to a remark questioning the film's appeal to women.

Reynolds also pointed out that the film, based on the Marvel comic, features a series of strong female characters and that even in early tests, the film performed well among female audiences.

But don't just take Reynold's word for it — according to the Motion Picture Association of America, four of the top five grossing films in 2014 were action movies and three of the four saw a 60/40 split between male and female viewers. The exception to this statistic being "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1," which had a slightly larger female audience.

And with the way Deadpool smashed box office records this past opening weekend, it's safe to say people of all genders watched and enjoyed this superhero flick.
