Taylor Swift Donates $250,000 To Help Kesha In Legal Battle

Another day, another celebrity feud

Taylor Swift is the latest celebrity to show her support for Kesha.

After a New York judge ruled Friday that the 28-year-old singer must remain in her contract with Sony music and producer Dr.Luke, who is accused of drugging and assaulting her, countless celebrities have stepped up to share words of support for the singer.

While Swift hasn't been vocal with her support, a representative for the singer revealed she has opened up her wallet and donated a whopping $250,000 to the "Tik Tok" singer to cover some of her legal fees.

But not everyone is impressed with Swift's quarter-million dollar donation. Fellow pop singer Demi Lovato ended up in an argument with Swift fans when some tweets were assumed to be jabs at the "Bad Blood" singer.

Lovato, who has been outspoken on social media in her support for Kesha, as well as for the entire notion of women's empowerment, made a few statements on Sunday that many believed were aimed at Swift:

Swift has been criticized in the past for her "convenient" feminism that often excludes women of colour.

Moving from Twitter to Instagram, Lovato fired back at a Swift fan who criticized Lovato for taking attention away from Kesha, in a comment captured by Just Jared:

“I didn’t shade Taylor. If you take it that way than [sic] fine. I’m just tired of seeing women use ‘women empowerment’ and ‘feminism’ to further brands without actually being the ones that have the uncomfortable conversations. I get shade…At least I’m getting my hands dirty."

Swift has yet to respond to Lovato or comment on the situation via social media.
