Celine Dion Performs Touching Tribute To Late Husband

"We were one, and nothing has changed. We will always be one."

Just one month after burying her husband of 21 years, Celine Dion is back on stage.

The 47-year-old singer returned to her Las Vegas stage at the Colosseum on Tuesday night and got candid with the crowd.

"Every time I close my eyes, I felt René on stage with me, whether he was seated in his seat right there, in the balcony, backstage or at home with the kids. He's always been on stage with me. And nothing will ever change that," Dion told the packed audience.

The entire concert was dedicated to Dion's late husband and former manager René Angélil, who died on January 14, 2016, after a long battle with throat cancer. Before getting on stage, the singer played a short video montage of Angelil's life. When Dion emerged she broke into an emotional performance of "With One More Look At You."

The touching tribute garnered a standing ovation for the visibly distraught singer who spoke to the audience between songs.

"I trusted him so much," Dion said of her late husband. "René was my very best critic. He never told me what I wanted to hear, he told me what I needed to hear."

Dion fondly reminisced about Angélil's ability to guide her music career and protect her from everything going on around her. Dion also gave the crowed a glimpse into what Angélil was like as a husband, saying, "He always made me feel that we were on our first date, isn't that amazing? Never talking bluntly, and always impressing himself in a soft and gentle way. We were one, and nothing has changed. We will always be one."

The singer shared the first 20 minutes of the performance with fans online via her Facebook page and website. Skip ahead to the 10:34 minute mark to hear her speak about Angélil.
