Kitsilano Home Sells For $735,000 Over Asking

WHYYYYYYY.

Another Vancouver home has sold for way over its asking price, and the realtor says it could be a record-setting sale.

The three-level house in the west-side Kitsilano neighbourhood sold for $4.2 million after being listed for $3.5 million, for a difference of $735,000.

And that was after just eight days on the market.

In an email to HuffPost B.C., real estate agent Brandan Price called it a "record" sale for the area.

The home sits on a "standard" 10-metre lot (sans view) and has seven bedrooms and five bathrooms. It's within walking distance to Jericho Beach and several schools, and was "recently renovated" from top to bottom, according to its listing.

Earlier this month, a teardown property in Vancouver's West End sold for over its asking price of $2.4 million — but real estate experts weren't surprised with the sky-high sale price.

The average price of a house in the city has jumped by over 32 per cent year-over-year, bringing the number to almost $1.1 million in 2016.
