After five nominations and oh so many Internet memes, Leo DiCaprio finally took home an Oscar on Sunday night.
The 41-year-old "Revenant" star got his first Oscar nod in 1994 at the age of 19 for his supporting role in "What's Eating Gilbert Grape." Ever since then, the Oscar winner churned out hit after hit in dramatic roles, but it never came with any wins.
In the video below, Pictoline depicts Leo's Oscar journey, starting with a simple stroll as his "What's Eating Gilbert Grape" character to a speedy jaunt in "The Aviator," to pushing past bullets in "Blood Diamond" to crawling in "The Wolf of Wall Street."
It's a perfect ending to a DiCaprio's long Oscar journey, and while we're sad to see one of the Internet's best jokes come to an end, we couldn't be happier to see him finally get an Oscar of his own.
Following his big win last night, DiCaprio took to his Facebook page to continue giving thanks to the cast and crew of "The Revenant," as well as shining a light on the issue of climate change.
