March 2 would have been Theodor Geisel's 112th birthday.

March 2, 2016 marks what would have been Theodor Geisel's 112th birthday. The prolific children's author was born in 1904 and died in 1991. Under the name Dr. Seuss, he wrote more than 60 books in his lifetime.

While he did not have any kids of his own, he left a legacy among children around the world with classics like "The Cat in the Hat," "Oh! The Places You'll Go" and "How The Grinch Stole Christmas."
