Toronto police locate suspect in indecent act on GO train hours after image released

Toronto police say a suspect was arrested and charged with an indecent act on a GO train this week hours after a security image of the man was released.

Const. Jenifferjit Sidhu said police released a photo and a detailed description of the man in a news release late Wednesday morning. Less than 10 hours later, police had located and arrested the man.

The man, 51, has been charged with an indecent act. The incident allegedly occurred on the weekend.

"By putting out the news release, the public was made aware. Everybody kept their eyes open and that's what assisted us in the arrest," Sidhu said.

Sidhu thanked the public for help in locating the man.

On Saturday, police received a call at 12:15 a.m. about an indecent act at the Exhibition GO Station. A man had allegedly exposed himself to a 31-year-old female passenger on the eastbound GO train travelling between Long Branch and Exhibition GO stations.

He was due to appear in court at Old City Hall Thursday.
