A sea creature found off the coast of Newfoundland had a group of fishermen drop everything to take a look.
Scott Tanner, from Nova Scotia, was part of a crew dragging nets for fish when they pulled in a particularily strange-looking one, according to CBC News. It had bright neon green eyes, ribbed fins that look like wings, and a long, pointy nose.
UK tabloid Daily Star called it a "winged fish with evil eyes."
Tanner told CBC News he looked up the fish when he went home, and believes it's a longnose chimaera, a deepwater species.
Dalhousie University professor Jeffrey Hutchings says it does look like a longnose chimaera, or a knifenose chimaera, which is uncommon since they're usually only found several hundred metres below the surface.
Tanner's fish isn't the only unusual aquatic creature to make recent headlines.
In January, wildlife enthusiasts in New Zealand found a fish with "legs," believed to be a type of frogfish.
