As the official start of spring is quickly approaching, there's no better time of year to get out and explore the vivacious arrays of greenery found in botanical gardens across the globe.
With over 1,000 different species of orchids, hardy kiwis, Tibetan blue poppies and much more, these gardens each have their own diverse blend of trees, plants and flowers, along with numerous animals and insects to discover. And luckily for Canadians, we don't have to stray too far from home to check it all out.
The Montreal Botanical Garden as well as Victoria's Butchart Gardens both made the list compiled by the Fairmont Hotel chain. Both gardens are top tourist attractions in their respective cities, bringing in anywhere from 900,000 to nearly 1,000,000 visitors annually.
