It's Kim Kardashian's latest naked selfie, and it generated plenty of controversy when she posted it last week.

Now, imagine it blown up to a nine-metre-tall piece of public art.

The mural was designed by graffiti artist Lushsux, also known as "mark walls."

Lushsux is responsible for quite a few edgy designs, such as a wall painted with Donald Trump's face, and another with the words, "Executive Producer DICK WOLF."

The ode to Kim K, however, was a tricky one.

"[It was] quite hard to turn an archived screenshot from my phone into a three-story nude figure painting," the artist told Mashable.

The creation, painted on a wall in the Melbourne suburb of Cremorne, has drawn disparate reactions.

At least one person has imitated the selfie:

Is this the real life... @laureneshelley

Others have vandalized the mural, showing how eager people are to paint women with sexist labels:

Andddd this is why we can't have nice things @kimkardashian

One person from the area wasn't happy with the mural, telling news outlet 3AW that it was painted without consultation.

And so the controversy lives on.
