Woman faces nine charges in connection with fatal Newmarket crash

A 35-year-old Newmarket woman faces nine charges in connection with a fatal crash that killed a 26-year-old man in January.

The two-vehicle collision happened around 8:45 p.m. on Green Lane at Main Street North on January 17, York Regional Police said. When officers arrived on the scene, they found that a silver Kia Rondo had hit a grey Honda Accord.

The man driving the Accord was pronounced dead at the scene.

The woman driving the Rondo and her three daughters were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. 

The woman faces a slew of charges, including:

- impaired operation causing death and bodily harm;

- over 80 mgs causing death and bodily harm;

- and dangerous operation causing bodily harm.

She is scheduled to appear in court on April 7.
