KENORA, Ont. — Police in Kenora, Ont. say they've found the body of a First Nations teenage girl who had been the subject of a massive missing person's search since late last month.
Ontario Provincial Police say the body of 16-year-old Delaine Copenace was found Tuesday morning in Lake of the Woods.
They say the body was initially discovered by city employees.
Police have not revealed a cause of death or indicated whether or not foul play is suspected.
They have ordered a post-mortem exam and are continuing to investigate the case.
The search for Copenace, which began after she disappeared on Feb. 28, involved several police forces, the Canadian Centre for Child Protection and a large number of community volunteers.
