NDP Leader Tom Mulcair calls on Trudeau to denounce Donald Trump

OTTAWA — NDP Leader Tom Mulcair is calling Donald Trump a "fascist" and says Prime Minister Justin Trudeau should denounce the Republican Party leadership candidate.

The NDP has released a video of Mulcair saying Trump fits the definition because of his remarks, including a proposal to ban Muslims from entering the United States.

In the video shot last week, Mulcair says Trudeau should not shy away from speaking out against Trump.

Trudeau once again avoided criticizing Trump today in Washington, saying only he has confidence in the American voters.

Trudeau did not mention Trump by name and said he looks forward to working with whoever wins the November presidential election.
