This Bear's Back Scratch Is Something Straight From 'The Jungle Book'

Is that you, Baloo?!

Well, how about that.

A black bear in Anmore, B.C. was caught on camera during a good ol' back scratching session against a tree on Monday.

Jim Korchinski spotted the itchy animal around 7 a.m., just as the homeowner was sitting down for his morning cup of coffee.

"I've never seen one scratch himself like that before ... so I ran back to the kitchen to grab my phone," he said.

"It was just too much fun watching him."

Korchinski, who's lived in the village outside Vancouver with his family for nearly 20 years, said he's seen his fair share of wildlife passing through before β€” but he thinks this bear might be a return visitor.

"About five years ago, I took a video of a mother bear and her three cubs playing at the house, and one had a white patch," Korchinski told The Huffington Post B.C.

"I think this back-scratcher might be that same bear."

Or, it might be a real-life version of Baloo, straight out of "The Jungle Book."

We think so, anyway.

(Although CBC News pointed out that a 2007 study found that perhaps B.C. bears are marking their scent when they rub themselves on trees.)
