An Ontario police officer once nicknamed "Canada's hot cop" on a popular game show was found guilty of breach of trust on Wednesday, according to the Toronto Sun.
Kara Darnley, an officer with the Ontario Provincial Police, was also facing a charge of obstructing justice, of which she was acquitted.
She appeared on Wipeout Canada in 2011.
The trial heard that Darnley was found to have copied police documents that suggested her fiance's friends were under surveillance for drug trafficking, the Sun reports. But the documents were fake and planted as part of an undercover operation.
Darnley told the paper the court ruling is “disheartening.”
Darnley was charged in 2012 for criminal breach of trust, obstructing justice, theft under $5,000 and possession under $5,000, according to the Toronto Star. At the time of her arrest, she was suspended with pay, the Wasaga Sun reported.
She was also accused of stealing four OPP T-shirts.
