Manitoba's incoming new premier appoints key members of his staff

WINNIPEG — Premier-designate Brian Pallister has announced members of his senior staff and says he's set to announce his cabinet next week.

Pallister appointed Philip Houde as his chief of staff, Jonathan Scarth as principal secretary, Olivia Baldwin-Valainis as director of communications and James White as senior adviser and director of issues management.

He says he's confident the team's "combined wealth of knowledge, experience and leadership" will provide our the new Tory government with essential advice.

Pallister will announce his cabinet and deputy ministers May 3.

Caucus will be sworn in on May 11.
